December Snow Day

Well we got a lot more snow than originally planned. Still, I need to get out for some exercise. Man I was cold and my nose was chapped.

It's a matter of perspective

Okay, that's better. Now you are seeing the ball from my perspective. Doesn't look so little from here, does it?

I also find the little tennis balls taste better once you rip the yellow cover off.

Oh deer

I love that my owners have a place with some land. Even though I don't get outside the fence much - that's a lot of space by itself - the extra land encourages wildlife for me to bark at. Coyotes howling at night, rabbits grazing in the yard, herons searching for fish in the fishless pond and .... well look for yourself.

Sweet. It ran along side the house and up the driveway.

Dogs and Blogs

Here's a funny cartoon. Personally, I find time for both.

Soccer when it isn't snowing

The last time you saw me playing soccer it was pretty white out. Well I finally got "Mr. Opposable Thumbs" to edit a few video pieces together so you can see me in action when it isn't snowing.

People ask my people when I started playing ball like this and, to be honest, none of us remember me not playing like this. Rumor has it that I started with a regular size basketball, back when I was just 4lbs, and it would rub my nose raw. It's just who I am.

A solitary figure sits, carefully scanning the horizon for those that seek to do us harm. Bunnies, crows and squirrels. Their evil knows no boundaries.

SNOW DAY!

Can you believe it. April 19th and there is snow on the ground. I know, I don't seem like a snow dog, what with the smooth coat and being so close to the ground. I while my undercarriage does get a bit cold, I love snow. I still remember my first snow as a young pup over at the Meadowdale house. I couldn't leap over the top of the snow, so I just tunneled under and popped up randomly to see where I was at.

Anyway, Corey took me out for a little soccer practice and he took a few videos. Here is his favorite.

Weekend visiting

Saturday turned out to be a different kinda of day. Instead of hanging out around the house and playing outside, Corey took me visiting. We went over to biped Grandma and Grandpa's to see their new kitchen and drop off some stuff. There was a cat in the parking lot, which I took the opportunity to bark at. Picture below is of me on their chair in their living room.

Then it was off to visit cousin Griffey (1/2 black lab and 1/2 spaniel). We played ball in his back yard, but as normal, he kept the ball instead of returning it for more play. I had to trick him with another ball several times so I could steal the tennis ball back. Then we moved inside for more playing. Playing inside was even more fun because those people just aren't use to a fast, little dog. I'm up in their faces before they know what hit them. Very tasty noses!

Oh, I'm tired

I am seriously tired today. After the play yesterday I can hardly lift my head off the pillow. Of course someone has to take a picture. I look like heck. Talk about your bad hair day.

Help adopt Daisy

I was at Doggy Haven today, as I am almost every Wednesday, and I got to see Daisy Mae. Daisy's story is a particularly heart breaking tail (tale) of a Lab puppy abandoned at six weeks. Daisy can barely walk because of a condition called Cerebellar Ataxia, a disease that effects her motor skills. Rescue Pup saved Daisy and she is staying at Doggy Haven for a few weeks. (Rescue Pup has a store in Mill Creek with pet supplies and the money supports Rescue Pup.)

You can help my friend in one of two ways. If you have a lot of love, Daisy is looking for a new home and could really use a loving family. If you have some items to donate, Rescue Pup is having a rummage sale to raise money for her care this weekend.

Details about Daisy Mae and the rummage sale can be found at this site.
